Politico's Cheapest Shot Yet

As you know, I'm not a fan of Politico's news operation.  Today's feature article, Mission for anti-Palin movement: Expose her, is a prime example of how the MSM will go after Republican candidates or potential candidates.

Under the guise of reporting on the anti-Palin movement, Politico manages to dredge up almost every crank accusation against Palin.  The fourth word in the first sentence of the article just happens to be "promiscuous."  How nice.

In the course of the article, Politico manages to compare Palin to Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Hitler, and Father Coughlin, but only because such people were controversial and celebrities, of course.  And Politico did not make the connection itself, it merely quoted someone making the connection, that's how real reporters do it, right?

Politico even refers to Rebecca Mansour, an aide to Palin who helps with SarahPAC, as an "attack dog," with an embeded link in Mansour's name in the Politico article to the viciously anti-Palin Palingates website.  This is beyond contemptible even for Politico.

And no article about Palin and Trig-trutherism would be complete without noting that prying into the minutiae of Palin's personal life is just as ridiculous as prying into the constitutional qualification of the President of the United States.

We have our work cut out for us in 2012, folks, regardless of whether Palin is the nominee or even runs.

Update:  Perhaps I have been too harsh on Politico, after all, at least they did not quote Wonkette.

  1. Politico has a news operation? I thought that was the 'shameless propaganda' section...

  2. Cheapest. And quite sexist as well.

    "Promiscuous?" Whatever.

  3. "We have our work cut out for us in 2012, folks, regardless of whether Palin is the nominee or even runs." --Prof. Jacobson

As I said in a prior post, there is no bottom for these low-life Alinsky-ites:

"I agree that [Sarah Palin] is very likely to run, and it WILL be the fight of our lives to promote, protect, and defend her - or any Conservative candidate - against the Obama-Chicago way. Leftists have no bottom - no low is too deep for them; winning is all that matters. By any means necessary." --me

The Left will attempt to win by any means necessary. We will truly be in the fight of our lives in 2012. Worse than 2008, much worse.

  4. Politico is the anti-Palin movement. They are JournOlister #1. Take down all viable candidates, starting with Sarah Palin. Alinsky 101. Politico=OFA Propaganda Ministry.

They are so transparent - in this, at least.

  5. She will run and she will win, Obama and his servile media minions be damned!

  6. "Mission for anti-Palin movement: Expose her."

The declarative has never sounded so imperative.

  7. I gave up on Politico in 2008, when they were so obviously over the top in support of Obama vs. Hillary. Early on in the 2008 presidential race, even during the primaries, Politico's bias toward Obama became clear. That is when I stopped going there for news. What they were offering was not news, it was op-eds couched in the mantilla of news.

But they are cowards. Bashing Sarah Palin has become the position of the intellectually dishonest, who don't want to report on the total failure that is the Obama administration. They will not discuss how "hope and change" has meant nothing, and how all those campaign promises were nothing more than "I promise I will still respect you in the morning" So they will use any excuse to bash Sarah Palin, employing adjectives that they would never dare use against Obama, or any Democrat, for that matter, knowing that it feeds the lowest of the left and gains readership, which after all, is what it is all about.

  8. IMF bombshell: Age of America nears end

"This is more than a statistical story. It is the end of the Age of America. As a bond strategist in Europe told me two weeks ago, “We are witnessing the end of America’s economic hegemony.”

We have lived in a world dominated by the U.S. for so long that there is no longer anyone alive who remembers anything else. America overtook Great Britain as the world’s leading economic power in the 1890s and never looked back."

It doesn't have to be. With Obama it's guaranteed.

Remember that sign the Ragin Cajun put up.
    "It's the economy, stupid."

  9. Politico has a "news" operation?

More like a "noose" operation of vile, partisan lynching.

  10. I love Sarah Palin. To get to be governor, she was willing to not only take on Democrats, but she took on the "good ole boy" GOP establishment in Alaskan state politics as well. In her recent speeches, she lashes out at the establishment GOP in Washington as much as she lashes out at Obama. She's willing to shake up a hornets nest every once in a while.

However, as I've said before, she did not make any friends in the media by repeatedly referring to the MSM as the lame-stream media. I've seen members of the MSM grumble that since Obama's election she has refused invitations to be interviewed by anybody except Fox News and "conservative media". After her pathetic treatment by the MSM, who can blame her? But her refusal to kowtow to the MSM is going to cost her as they get their revenge.

There is just no way the MSM will ever produce a sympathetic piece about her, let alone be fair and objective. She hurt their feelings when she shunned them and called them on their bias. They are going to trash her every chance they get.

When you shake up a hornets nest, you have to expect you're gonna get stung.

  11. " ... it's also helped some of the rumors to break through into the 'lamestream media' Palin so despises."

My goodness ... she is also a despiser. And after the media treated her so well, too.

To borrow from Politico's Kenneth Vogel, maybe it's because of their promiscuously petty and unintelligent, yet deviously conniving intent on character assassination.

  12. Soon Politico's only readers will be people of their own ilk. If that's a majority in America we will have no choice but to make a generational and difficult geographical and sovereign separation from them. Where is John Galt?

As the lame-stream-media perfects their lameness in trying to skewer Sarah Palin they will increasingly be exposed for what they really are. I enjoy watching them turn themselves inside-out trying to defile those with integrity. They've had their shot at fooling some of the people some of the time. America is slow to judge and slow to anger.

  13. It's not for nothing that it has earned the alternate name "Obamico".

  14. Well said. Politico is the Ministry of Propaganda of the Obama Administration.

But let's be clear about another reason why they are upset with Palin and Rebecca. Those two led the charge, along with Hugh Hewitt, to boycott the sham debate that Politico and MSNBC were having on May 2nd.

They were forced to move it. For that, MSNBC and Politico have never forgiven Palin. And they never will.

  15. People say... that all the Politico "journalists" start each day buggering animals yet Politico refuses to respond to our inquiries attempting to get to the bottom of these allegations.

  16. Expose what? If there was something horrible in her life to expose, it would have already been done.

  17. I used to know Ken Vogel ... back when he was a political writer for The News Tribune (Tacoma, WA).

I say 'used' to know him, because I don't even recognize the tripe he's publishing at Politico.

He used (there's that word again) to be a good writer. Sadly, that's no longer the case.

  18. Yes Professor, we DO have our work cut out for us - this will be the fight of our lives , as viator put it yesterday.

Btw, thankyou for doing the recon at Pollutico so that I don't have to. (I haven't given them any clicks for about a year now)

But Americans have fought for high stakes before and they will do so again. I saw a youtube clip yesterday (at conservatives4palin.com) of a bunch of them, wearing their Veterans caps and insignia, clutching their copies of "America By Heart", a look of confidence in their eyes, while waiting inside a Costco to meet Gov Palin in Brentwood TN, last winter. (the civilians were waiting outside in the cold)

I am betting that there are MORE Americans who want to restore their country than those who don't and are willing to let it slide further into socialism, or who are too ignorant or uncaring about what is going on.

In my view, Gov Palin is the Leader who will most successfully be able to rally the Heart of America.

She will remain target #1 for America's Domestic Enemy Apparatus, as long as she is a threat, and they will attack her children because that is her only vulnerability.

Metaphorically speaking, we are the GIs stationed in the south of England in April 1944. ...... sitting around ..... then training (in the blogosphere) .... then sitting some more, talking about what lies ahead ,....... then training some more ..... realising the enemy is strong and intrenched on the other side of the Channel ....... not knowing for sure if the mission will be successsful or when it will start ..... waiting for the order to come down, to launch Operation Overlord.

In my view Gov Palin has been provided to lead, for such a time as this.

    There is no turning back.

  19. I just removed Politico from my list of links. Thanks for the heads-up.

  20. For the folks who are concerned about Gov Palin calling out the LSM - they are part of the Domestic Enemy Apparatus, or at least their enablers - if The Republic is to survive the Press must return to their true watchdog status .....

Did not John McCain buddy up with the MSM? Did they give him fair treatment once he was challenging Their One?

The LSM must be defeated along with The Left like Breitbart has said - and this is possible for the first time because of technology. But it will require at least 30% of the citizenry to be committed and engaged. (I chose 30% due to it being a historical precedent - I read that only about 30% of the public fought the British during the First American Revolut!on, the rest were either passive or against The Patriots)

  22. "I've seen members of the MSM grumble that since Obama's election she has refused invitations to be interviewed by anybody except Fox News and "conservative media". "

That's what they say, but like so many things that "they" say, it's not true. I've seen her on many stations besides Fox. True, not as much, but Fox pays her for commentary and she's not avoiding the others completely either. The whole "only gives interviews on Fox" meme is yet another lie put forth by those seeking to discredit Palin.

  23. I stopped commenting on Ben Smith's agitprop gibberish long ago after I found that any critical remarks were simply not recorded and my posts disappeared in the memory hole.

Their agenda is completely apparent and their writing skills are barely equal to the average high school newspaper. As for analysis, it is absent unless contrived to make the Won look good or the GOP look bad. A poor idea badly executed, Politico isn't even as good as HuffPo, where Sam Stein actually commits journalism from time to time.

  24. 26 April 2011

The more that SP is attacked, the more I am convinced that she is the right one to lead America. She leads much of America today by power of her personality. Soon she will lead America through that, and through the power of her position as the Commander In Chief.

    CONSERVATIVES=> No retreat, No Surrender.

    Take good care,
    Sandy
