Tiger Hit On Head By Himself

From Mr. Privacy:

I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.
Next time Mr. Privacy wants privacy, he should remember that sexting is not "off the record." [Added: Leaving voice messages asking your mistress to expect a call from your wife, doesn't help either.]

Does this close the case on the use of a golf club? He lied to us before, so why should we believe him now?

Update: My wife feels I missed an opportunity here to title the post "Tiger Caught by Tail." But Jake Tapper already took credit for that line, so I'm late as usual.

  1. Wow, a golfer on the PGA Tour has been stepping out on his wife. The media is dutifully on alert for any signs of a Sanford-style meltdown. At some point it may sink in that our collective ogling contributes to the innocent getting humiliated along with the guilty. But Woods has been such a pariah in his other endeavors, so humiliate away.

  2. "Tiger Caught by Tail" should have been the headline. He's been a bad boy!

  3. How about for a headline, Cheetah Woods

  4. Tiger grew up under the close scrutiny of a father who rather pushed him along. He was the Shirley Temple of golf. Now that his father has died, he's doing everything he should have done when he was 16 only doing it all concurrently with being a husband and father. This is not an excuse and I have no clinical training but from what I see on blogs and on journal sites, my opinion is no less valid. Who doesn't love to analyze.

  5. So a man cheated on his wife.
Wow, will we now see the MSM and all bloggers waiting outside every Circuit Courthouse to get the juicy tidbits thrown out by the aggrieved spouse ?
Oh, I see it is the World's Best Golfer that cheated on his wife.
So it has to be covered from top to bottom by the MSM and every blogger.
Or, if you do not post on this your wife will think you condone it.
If that is the case either ask her for your sack back, or grow a set.
Pay no attention to the fact that the state of marriage is and has been under attack for at least a generation, no just point out the most obvious symptom when done by the most interesting athlete of his field.

  6. It's for him to fix and try to work out, hopefully with his wife's aide.

The problem is we keep hearing about the next woman who wants to come clean and confess that yes, she too has been having sex with Tiger.

What he did was foolish and base, and will be hard on his loved ones. Men are slow to become wise. For Tiger, applying self-discipline to attain a desired outcome and thinking of playing for the round rather than the hole are golf skills he is in possession of that might come in helpful.
