Look Who's Claiming Obama's Mother Was Not Married

Yesterday, Blue Mass Group posted a misleadingly edited interview with Scott Brown in which Brown, when questioned, said he didn't know if Barack Obama's mother was married when Obama was born. That expression of lack of knowledge has led to full meltdown in the left-wing blogosphere, claiming Brown is a "Birther" as I detailed in my post, Coakley Supporters Fabricate Birther Accusation Against Brown.

I don't care whether Obama's mother was married, and neither did Brown in his full comments (embedded below), in which he was deflecting criticism of Bristol Palin's pregnancy. The issue was brought up by the moderator, not by Brown.

Nonetheless, since the left-wing blogs are in full-throttled meltdown over it, a reader tipped me off to someone else who has claimed that Obama's mother was not married. Here's the statement by the person:
"Barack saw his mother, who was very young and very single when she had him, and he saw her work hard to complete her education ...."
The person making this statement was Michelle Obama, in a speech you can view here (sorry, no embed available) at 8:55. A description of the speech on this point also is available here.

Again, I couldn't care less if Obama's mother was married at the time of his birth, and neither could Scott Brown. But since the left-wing blogs claim that any expression of doubt about the marital status of Obama's mother makes one a Birther, I expect they promptly will denounce Michelle Obama.

I'll also wait for their pathetic non-corrections of their posts.

  1. I was just reading the comments on Youtube for this clip and it gave me a physical headache.

This may be off topic but what is hypocritical of having a teenager that makes mistakes?

I for the life of me don't understand liberals. They think they understand Conservatives, they don't. They apply their own biggoted thoughts about Conservatism to all Conservatives, then when someone doesn't fit their biggoted mold, they call them a hypocrite.. Ouch.

    Go Scott!

  2. That clip is even more ridiculous than the post suggested. He just said he didn't know. And so at worst, he committed the crime of...

not knowing Obama's biography by heart.

Look dems, i know you love obama, or at a least you did at one time. you have children singing songs to him. you believed he was the second coming of christ. but this might come as a surprise to you, but some of us thought he was merely a man and really didn't care all that much about his background, except to the extent that that had done little to make us think he would be any good as president.

  3. Ahhh... I wondering about the context of the "birther" accusation and this video answers my question.

So its yet another hitjob, that is thrown around completely out of context.

  4. This would be a blow to Liberals if facts mattered to them, instead they have their moral certitude. Nothing you say will blunt their self-righteous pandering. But, it certainly makes us feel better.

  5. Given that the marriage between Barack Hussein Obama and Ann Dunham took place while Barack Hussein Obama was still married to a wife back in Kenya, one has to question the validity of the marriage between the two, which makes it eminently reasonable to question whether or not the president was born while his parents were legally married.

And give the profusion of Trig Truthers out there questioning whether or not Sarah Palin is the mother of her youngest child, i don't think Democrats really want to get into this pissing match.

  6. Wait a minute, does this mean that BO's mother was "punished with a baby"?

  7. What does it matter to Obama's Presidency if his mother was married or not? The birther movement is about the claim that he wasn't born in the USA or its territories and thus not constitutionally qualified to hold office. Now, if his father was the US citizen and his mother from Kenya, the fact of Obama's parent's marriage might be slightly relevant as to Obama's citizenship status. But given the unassailable fact that Obama's father was Kenyan, and his mother a US citizen, thus her marriage does not matter.

  8. Showbiz,

You should watch the context of the video. It would answer your question.

Unfortunately, you are misled by propaganda because Brown's quote has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH OBAMA'S CITIZENSHIP.

An Obama supporter was bashing Palin because her daughter had a teenage son out of wedlock and Brown pointed out that Obama was also born out of wedlock to a teenage mother.

Brown's point is directed towards his opponent's hypocrisy.

Please educate yourself before jumping to conclusions that you got from smear merchants...
