Guilt By High School Classmate

I really hope my high school classmates don't plan to burn any Korans, or my name may be in a headline like this:
Rush Limbaugh, Pastor Terry Jones Were High School Classmates
Terry Jones, the Florida pastor threatening to burn a Koran tomorrow on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, was a high school classmate of Rush Limbaugh....
MSNBC's Keith Olbermann was one of the first to call attention to the Limbaugh/Jones nexus when he posted news of it on Twitter overnight: " 'Rev.' Terry Jones was classmate of none other than Rush Limbaugh (Cape Central class of '69). Coincidence?"
Think Progress, NAACP, Little Green Footballs, Southern Poverty Law Center, and the rest of you -- you have all the proof you need.

Update:  Thanks to a commenter for this:

and this comment in a local Missouri newspaper may explain it all:
I think he was valedictorian Class of 1970. If my memory serves me, and was voted most likely to be beheaded. Stay strong brother and make Cape proud!

  1. Goodness -- so now we're all responsible for what our high school classmates do, 41 years after we graduated?

  2. That was a good interview, I agreed with most of it.

One thing about RINO senators that I havn't seen mentioned anywhere else yet is that, I'm sure that the Democrats had the votes needed in the senate to pass obamacare, even if they had lacked 60 democrat votes. We'll never know for sure, but if push had come to shove last December, I do believe that Harry Reid would have had enough Republicans crossing the aisle. They would've peeled Snowe, and then Collins, and then Graham, and then McCain, and then the rest of them. Since their votes were not needed in the end, of course they're free to vote against obamacare and save themselves from the wrath of the voters and even get to stand up and claim that they stood firm against Reid and obamacare.

RINOs are corrosive and evil and the pragmatists be damned, we'll do what it takes to get Miller and O'Donnell elected. We will take back the nation with general elections, but primaries are for taking back the republican party.

  3. Breaking:

MSNBC's Keith Olbermann was a classmate with Equus Asinus at school. Coincidence?

  4. Well, that was supposed to be under the next blog post 'Me On Instavision'. Sorry for the confusion.

  5. It gets stupider, far stupider. Hoping to play the "it's not the crime, it's the cover-up" card, some guy named Matt Lewis tries to get a little more mileage out of this story by writing that Limbaugh never mentioned the connection.

Cue the scary, conspiratorial music: dun dun DUNNNN....

How about... maybe Rush didn't remember the guy? Hell, I haven't been out of high school for half as long as Rush, and I don't remember most of the people in my class. I get Facebook friend requests from them all the time, and I often completely blank on them. Seriously, I don't even know if I talked to them back in high school.

And speaking of Facebook, you know what happens if you search for "Terrence Jones"? Over FIVE HUNDRED results. Rush is supposed to recognize a name from 41 years ago, a name that's almost as common as "Steve Smith"?

  6. Didn't Barack and Adolph both give speeches in Berlin? there is that nexus thang again.

  7. Everybody who went to high school with Keith Olbermann is in deep sh*t, as far as I'm concerned.

  8. Hmmmmm.......should be a fun Rush today! Can't wait to hear THIS one! Hehehe.

If it's true - which I doubt - then Rush will lambaste these lefties! If it NOT true......I shudder to think (but will peek with one eye!). :D

  9. Dan Patrick worked for more than a decade with a dishonest, hackish smear merchant who defames and slimes anyone he doesn't like. And never lets them respond to his personal attacks.

So, we can't hold associations - however tangential - against people.

  10. Not only that, the Unabomber was found in a one room shack with Al Gore's book as one of his only possessions! Guilty, Guilty, Guilty!

  11. I just heard Rush talking about it. He didn't remember the guy at first... How many Terry Jones are out there? He now remembers him from Pony League baseball and said he was a left-handed pitcher. Other than that he doesn't remember anything about him.

  12. Didn't Barack and Bill Ayers attend Columbia University at the same time in the 1980s. Talk about nexus. Weren't there weather underground firebombings in New York City, when Barry attended college there? What another horrific nexus!

  13. Let's not forget that James Lee, ecoterrorist, was "awakened" by Al Gore's propaganda film known as "An Inconvenient Truth."

    DEMOCRATS = TERRORISTS

Thanks, Keith Olby! This is easy.

  14. The longer Keith Olbermann's show goes on, the lower the ratings for the show.
    Coincidence?

  15. Showbiz - great point.

Barack Obama had his presidential campaign launched in the livingroom of two Weather Underground terrorists.
    Coincidence?

  16. I went to high school with an NFL offensive lineman and the guy who played Booger in the Porky's movies. What's that say about me?

  17. Just how bad is Terry Jones on a scale of 1-10?

    ReplyDelete
  18. The only reason the media noticed this non-story is because they intended to try to associate this low life nobody pastor with the entire Right. This association with Rush is just the so-far most comically obvious attempt to do so.

  19. I graduated the same year as Limbaugh, but not the same school. Through out the years some of my classmates have ended up in prison, etc, world class slime balls. Others have done quite admirably. None quite as stupid as Keith Olberman.

  20. I like Treacher's tweet:

    jtLOL
Terry Jones went to school with Rush Limbaugh, which explains it all. Obama sat in Rev. Wright's church for decades, which explains nothing.

  21. Question: The twitter display has Keith's last name as "Olbemann"-minus the "r"; is this due to character restrictions on twitter or is KO dumber than I've given him credit for?

    ReplyDelete
  22. @thedivinelamp -- it pretty clearly (if you enlarge it) says Olbermann -- spelled correctly

    ReplyDelete
  23. You guys do this sort of thing all the time.

  24. Mr. Jacobson, I put my glasses on and enlarged the script but things aren't looking much better. If you look at the dual "r" in "Terry" and compare it to Keith's last name it appears he spelled it "Olberrnann". If I weren't wearing my Olbermann (that's O-L-B-E-R-M-A-N-N)persona I'd be objective, take account of the facts and conclude that twitter's graphics need improving; but I'm Keith Olbermann, facts and objectivity are of no use to me.

  25. I was high school classmates with a serial killer (Westley Alan Dodd, http://www.skcentral.com/articles2.php?article_id=184), so does that make me partially responsible for his crimes? Puh-leeze.

  26. I don't even remember the names of all 40-some people in my high school class, and I was with them for six years ending a decade ago....

    ReplyDelete
  27. Mom2mykids: not only are you partially responsible by association, you ARE a serial killer.

That being said, I attended Math 11 Honours (Mr French's class) at Pen-hi with Paul Kariya (He actually sat next to me, 2nd row from the back if I recall correctly). By extension, I'm one hell of a hockey player.... that cannot skate.
