Being A Crime Victim Is Not A License To Make Up Facts

And does not immunize you from criticism when you do.

From Democracy Now, Tuscon shooting victim Eric Fuller says:
It looks like Palin, Beck, Sharron Angle and the rest got their first target. Their wish for Second Amendment activism has been fulfilled—senseless hatred leading to murder, lunatic fringe anarchism, subscribed to by John Boehner, mainstream rebels with vengeance for all, even nine-year-old girls."
Apparently, this finger pointing was not present in an earlier interview.

I wish you a speedy recovery, but you are wrong for all the reasons most of the rest of the world has come to understand in the last few days.

P.S., yes, you will be used by those who will hide behind your victim-status since they have no facts to support their theories:
"Cue the right-wing waaaaaahmbulance. I wonder if Megyn Kelly or Bill O'Reilly will bring Fuller on Fox to browbeat him as they did Sheriff Dupnik for expressing the same view."
Update:  Aaron Worthing thinks the Democracy Now presentation -- and how the statement is being used to support the claim that Palin et al. were responsible -- may present Mr. Fuller's comments out of context, because the question was how he felt at the time of the shooting, not necessarily how he feels now.

  1. Fastest way to become "famous" these days is to say something THAT stupid. Blaming Bush is getting old.

  2. I wouldn't assume that Democracy now is giving the full story. It is clear he was only talking about how he felt on Saturday. They don't ask him the obvious follow up question: "do you still feel this way?"

democracy now is a dishonest outfit, obviously. i wouldn't trust them to tell us the whole story.

i write more about it and give you nice zen video to start off your weekened, here.

  3. This ancient fart [I was in Vietnam for two years and can call a vet that name] saw that Dupnik was getting great follow-on publicity after lying like a rug and blaming everybody to his right for the shooting.

Hey, I can do that, the semi-senile dude on pain-killers said, and maligned and slandered great Americans because that's his Second Amendment right. He isn't a hero because he got shot and he's a spermburper for his obscene accusations.

  4. "For too long Americans have been set one against the other, it is a side affect of a free market society. How can profits be maximized, how can I get the work done for the lowest possible costs. This continually sets one group against the other, especially in the blue collar sectors of America. It has become a part of the American Business model, whether it was indentured servants, slaves picking cotton, sharecroppers, the industrious people that built the railroads or todays migrant workers. As long as we remain divided, fighting for the scraps that America has to offer it will be one group against the other."

  5. I wonder how much Soros paid this guy, Eric Fuller.

First Joe the Plumber, now Eric the Fibber.

    and the beat goes on...

  6. Proof positive that the victims of such events are not saints, heroes, or even decent human beings. To declare that this guy is an expert on political rhetoric and its effect is like calling me an expert on the space program because I sometimes eat lunch at the Wendy's across the street from Johnson Space Center.

  7. The Intellectual dishonesty of the left is utterly amazing. Aren't they the ones who claim to be so freaking smart?

  9. Yes, everyone knows that the Right's position is that insane Felons should have access to as many guns as possible.

When the system fails, you don't ask for more system. You refine it.

  11. Palinism

"Palin’s distinct approach to politics is “Palinism.” To me, it’s basically a libertarian conservative world view, combined with an aggressive strategy to win elections and shape the general tone of the debate. Although some more careful – and fearful – conservatives may not like it, Palin’s combination is the way forward; at least for her.

Although I have a record of criticizing Palin, I’ve come to respect her tremendously in recent months. The more she says and writes, the more impressed I am by her character, fearlessness, political intelligence and strategy. This is one dangerous lady – if you oppose her agenda, that is."

  12. I read this earlier. I would not believe ANYTHING that Democracy Now says - they are notorious at making things up, taking things out of context, or just plain lying. When I read this quote, it said the injured person was an aide to the Congresswoman. So, given that he is a Democrat, he might possibly be seeing things through the same lens of liberal-blame-game Alinsky tactics.

Doesn't make it true, of course. But, as always, consider the source, and the person who is speaking.

  15. Eric Fuller was arrested today for making death threats during a town hall event held in a local Tucson church taped by ABC. The leader of the Tucson Tea Party and an Arizona Republican Congressman were the targets of his threats.

No word yet how the media plans to hold Sarah Palin responsible.
