PDS Infects NBA

We cannot avoid Palin Derangement Syndrome even when watching basketball:

TNT says it is sorry.

Update 1-29-2011:  From James Taranto at The Wall Street Journal (via Instapundit) comes what may be an even lower low, a school play in Missoula, Montana in which a reference to beheading Palin was inserted, as related by this parent letter to the local newspaper:
First I would like to compliment you and the entire staff of "The Mikado" on the beautiful sets, costuming and professional performance we experienced on Sunday, Jan. 23. However, I must call you on something that was inserted into the play which I am almost positive was not in the original book.

The comments made in such a cavalier and oh-so-humorous way were uncalled for. Now, I realize you play to a mostly liberal audience in Missoula and so, I am sure, felt comfortable in your calling for the beheading of Sarah Palin. I am painfully aware that most in the audience tittered with laughter and clapped because "no one would miss her" but there were some in your audience who took great offense to this "uncivil tone" about another human being.

  1. They're just sick int he head. They said something degrading and nasty about Bristol and her new gig in Arizona on LX New York about her not being a real journalist. If you know LX New York they talk about clothes and gossip. It's not as if it takes brain power to do their job.

Meanwhile the Obama Administration has apparently
authorized union control of all Federal agencies.

Has an Obama Executive Order Put Federal Agencies Into Union Bosses’ Hands?

Shouldn't some lawyer look into this?
How can this possibly be legal?

  3. Who the EFF is Tracy Morgan?

I suppose his comment proved a success along the lines of, "There's no such thing as bad publicity." Well, dude, you got about all the bad publicity you're ever going to get.

I'm beginning to believe that half the folks who display PDS are doing so in an egotistical attempt to get their 15 minutes of fame. And the rest are even crazier.

  4. 1. Apology, schmapology.

Has TNT announced any form of sanction against Morgan?

(Maybe the very thought proves me a racist.)

    2. Mr. President, here's a teaching moment tailor-made for your civility campaign.

    I'm not holding my breath.

  5. Why is TNT on the hook for Tracy Morgan's vulgarity. Doesn't seem like it was scripted and approved by them.

Could you imagine a white man saying that about a black woman on live tv.

Tracy Morgan's attitude and behavior along with the other 2 black gentlemen, just keeps perpetuating every racist thought I DON'T WANT TO HAVE about the hip hop gangsta culture, 'i'm bad' persona. How completely irresponsible of them dragging us all backwards and encouraging their youth to follow their footsteps.

What a pig to say that about someone elses Wife and a Mother of 5.

  6. "Infects" may not be the best choice of words in your heading, Prof. Jacobson. In fact, you may have besmirched Morgan. But the synonym for "arrives at" would be even more problematic. You have a hard job, indeed.
