Uh huh

Looks like the blogosphere may be onto something.

I'm beginning to feel like a moth drawn to light.  Hopefully not to fire.

  1. Okay, in you're mind's eye (or hell, go to youtube), imagine all the red-faced radioactive accusatory hissy fits of outrage you've seen this guy have over the years about things that don't directly effect him. Now watch his decidedly non-outrage, non-hissy fit, non-accusatory response to this.

Your Honor, I rest my case.

  2. Makes a pretty good robot - same answer to all questions. Why is such an unresponsive, unaccountable bloke in Congress?

  3. (sniff, sniff ... sniff) - What's that I smell? Smoke?

There IS -something- unsavory going on here. That last question is VERY telling. Why WERE you following a 21 year old college student on twitter, Representative?

So he's going to spend at least 2 minutes NOT talking about it and saying "I'm ready to move on" and "we've got more important things" (like slandering and libeling a sitting SCOTUS justice, and a debt limit vote that you KNOW will fail because your party spent like drunken wastrels for the 2 years while you completely controlled the government). All this when he could have said simply "see my office press release." He's basking in the 15 seconds of attention.

PS - I wonder if he'll demand that Kagan recuse herself when Health Care comes up? My prediction is 'no,' by the way. Typical Liberal hypocrisy.

P.P.S.- we would already be hearing Democrats screaming for 'federal investigations,' 'ethics violations investigations' and 'resignation' by this point if he were a Republican. And yet, I hear the crickets chirping from Pelosi's office....

  4. I've heard he's lawyered up. My only question is if this a divorce lawyer, 'cause it sure looks like he'll need one.

  5. Why won't the Weiner admit as to whether he sent the picture or not?

  6. Professor, snag the full video linked at Mediate. Its So.Much.Worse.

  7. Well, that was a pretty weak erection he would be admitting to. And his underwear is not particularly manly, to boot. Not only is he a weasel, but he seems to be acting like he is going to get away with the "I've dealt with this issue and now I'm moving on" charade.

If the Democrats and moderate Republicans wouldn't impeach Clinton, why should this twerp worry?

  8. Wow, I watched the entire 9:22 minutes (URL supplied by Cowboy Curtis). Weiner spent 7:35 minutes saying how he wasn't going to be distracted by it and trying to change the subject. And he called someone a jackass at the end.

Whenever he was asked did you or didn't you, he referred them to his previous prepared statements, to which the reporters replied that his statements did not answer the question. Then once again he launched into his not-gonna-to-be-distracted meme. Round and round he goes. Will he go down the drain? Stay tuned!

  9. I just checked the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel online version and searched under "weiner twitter". Their closest match was "trainer hitter". I think that has something to do with baseball. Then I searched "twitter". Nothing. So that newspaper doesn't think much of this story. Really a non-story. Hey! Where is Katie Couric when we need her?

  10. Damn . . . Cowboy Curtis made the point I was going to make. Good catch!

You lose Mediate -- as a liberal Democrat, and he DID -- you are toast! That story reads like the reporter wanted to cry, but felt he had to do his job.

And then there is the very widely circulated AP story from a short while earlier today, one which was the AOL version of the story, and also posted on Yahoo, Forbes, and on dozens of other news services and news websites across the country.

Check out this graf from the story -- my emphasis added!

    . . .
The colorful and sometimes combative congressman who represents parts of Brooklyn and Queens was characteristically sharp tongued, refusing to answer reporters' questions about it, and even calling one a "jackass" for interrupting him. He insisted that he wanted to move on from the incident, which was distracting from his work on Capitol Hill. But there was no sign the story, or the speculation about who may have been responsible for tweeting the photo, was fading.
    . . . .

Generally, it is not good to call a reporter a "jackass!"

  11. Alwight, wicked Weiner! That's the last stwaw! Weporters are wondering whose weiner was weproduced in the Twitter and Yfwog accounts! It's high time you weply to our qwestions! Don't make us wun after the Weiner-wife to get the weal stowy about why you're twittering wacy porn stars and a possible mistwiss!

  12. Milwaukee . . . instead you might try to Google "Weiner's Schnitzel on Twitter."

Here is just one of the results that come up.

  13. I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinski. Now I have to get back to work for the American people.

    Oops, wrong scandal....

  14. Seems that Weiner was "following" maybe 100 or so people via Twitter, with a preponderance of these being young women less than half his age. Question: Why would a NY Congressman be "following," via social media, primarily young women, particularly one (the one to whom the lewd photo was sent) in Seattle, WA? Isn't this cyberstalking? Isn't that just as criminal as physical stalking? Isn't this sufficient reason for Congress to call for his resignation?

  15. "The rep doth protest too much, methinks."

  16. "Never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel"

(insert pixels/digital audio for ink. it's so much cheaper now to rag on someone.)

  17. "I've heard he's lawyered up. My only question is if this a divorce lawyer, 'cause it sure looks like he'll need one."

So long as Huma needs a beard, they'll stay "married".

  18. Weiner on the Environment: Big Talk, Small Stick

Where's the beef? Under Rep. Anthony Weiner's plan, vehicles, like the one above, would not be charged a fee to use New York City's most heavily congested streets

  19. Ginger Lee, a Rep. Weiner DM friend, hearts Rep. Weiner. Ginger Lee, be warned, is for adults only.
