Mexico Tells Obama What To Do With Those National Guard Troops

Literally. Mexico told Obama what to do with the national guard troops Obama just ordered to the border.

Not kidding. Mexico told Obama what to do with the national guard troops Obama just ordered to the border.

You may not understand. Mexico did not make a profane suggestion, as in, put those troops up your ....

No. Mexico issued a statement telling Obama that the troops should stop gun traffic and organized crime, and should not be used in connection with stopping illegal immigration (h/t Michelle Malkin), via The Embassy of Mexico (emphasis mine):

Regarding the Administration’s decision to send 1,200 National Guard servicemen to the US Southern border, the Government of Mexico trusts that this decision will help to channel additional US resources to enhance efforts to prevent the illegal flows of weapons and bulk cash into Mexico, which provide organized crime with its firepower and its ability to corrupt.

Additionally, the Government of Mexico expects that National Guard personnel will strengthen US operations in the fight against transnational organized crime that operates on both sides of our common border and that it will not, in accordance to its legal obligations, conduct activities directly linked to the enforcement of immigration laws.

Mexico is determined to continue working on its side of the border to enhance the security and well-being of border communities, and to deter and dismantle organized crime and its links to drug trafficking and human smuggling.

As part of our joint strategy in the fight against transnational organized crime, there are actions that our two governments have undertaken together, and there are other measures taken independently by Mexico and by the US within their respective territories. In this regard, the Mexican Government fully respects the sovereign decisions of the US Government, but underscores that joint responsibility must continue to underpin our joint efforts in rolling-back transnational organized crime operating on both sides of the border.

Will Democrats once again give a standing ovation? And will the Obama administration obey?

  1. Wow!! The media spin is all about how this is to help AZ with their border security. Too good to be true, of course. The Won doesn't do "what's good for America" but rather "what makes the dictators happy."

This has to be the WORST POTUS ever to sit in office. The most un-American, anti-American person to sit, ever! (Statement of the obvious, I know.....I thought nothing would surprise me with this thug - but he continues to sink even lower each day!)

  2. Note that the President of Mexico is lying about "illegal flows of weapons...into Mexico". That canard has been thoroughly debunked.

And what exactly is our "legal obligations" with regard to not enforcing illegal immigration?

  3. In support of my statement regarding illegal weapons trafficking into Mexico, there is this article in the LA Times (of all places), which reads, in part, "The Feb. 21 attack on police headquarters in coastal Zihuatanejo, which injured four people, fit a disturbing trend of Mexico's drug wars. Traffickers have escalated their arms race, acquiring military-grade weapons, including hand grenades, grenade launchers, armor-piercing munitions and antitank rockets with firepower far beyond the assault rifles and pistols that have dominated their arsenals.

Most of these weapons are being smuggled from Central American countries or by sea, eluding U.S. and Mexican monitors who are focused on the smuggling of semiauto- matic and conventional weapons purchased from dealers in the U.S. border states of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California."

The myth that America is involved in arming Mexican cartels is part and parcel of the left's attempt to disarm us.

  4. I think that the coward-in-chief will roll on his back, pee on his belly and Calderon will scratch it for him.

Yes, Congress will give the Mexican presidente a standing ovation as we pledge NOT to enforce immigration law.

    What a crock.

  5. Mexico evidently doesn't know or doesn't care about our Posse Comitatus Act. The Natl. Guard troops have been ordered to the border by Obama, so their authority to combat organized crime and gun running is questionable. Besides, the DEA, the ATF, and the FBI already fill that role.

  6. Dear Professor

    Hmmm

The Mexicans do ackowledge human trafficking in this statement. I read it as an acknowledgement by Mexico of how bad the situation really is and how close Mexico is to anarchy. They have a point: The problem is bad enough that 1,200 guardsmen isn't enough. There are really three problems here: drug and arms smuggling, "normal" illegal immigration and wide-scale trafficking. Mexico acknowledges all of them in this statement and hopes we will use the 1nitial 1,200 guardsmen in her best interests. This problem is bad, really bad and we have to wake up. Yesterday.

  8. I am weak from writing and talking about every corner of the globe that is in turmoil since the US elected Obama. Drudge listed under "WARS" -

US Prepares for Largest Battle in Afghanistan...
NKorea bracing, severing all ties with South....
    New Chinese aggression..
    Israel drill raises tensions...

and of course he should mention our southern border.

Lula went to Iran (Obama people swear it was at Obama's urging) and now Mexico is running the western hemisphere.

Who can enjoy the holiday weekend when each day
we enter another crisis and hope one does not produce untenable conflagration. And guess who is paying for all of this? And guess who are awaiting how much extra tax our gasoline will have because of BP? The Gulf of Mexico is dying and so is this country and its economy. No wonder Barack flew home to the bosom of his Chicago thug pals for strength. And the real laugh is that this country is now obsessed with what will happen to the Duchess of York, poor woman? There is not a priority that has not been perverted while Obama has been in office.

Other nations are taking over roles previously cared for by the President of the US because quite literally NO ONE IS HOME - particularly this weekend.

  9. Antimedia - thank you for bringing this article to our attention. It is critical to getting people awakened to what is really going on.

  11. Yes, just last night, I was counting on my fingers all of the wars that could potentially break out any minute, all over the world, just in time for my only son to graduate next year and turn 18.

BUT, against my conservatism, our school system is churning out liberal socialists. My son laughed at myself and the Mr., when I suggested he join any one of the Armed Forces of his own accord and get the full benefit of training at a safe normal level pace, instead of drafting him, shoving the gun in his hand and shipping him out. My uncle died in Vietnam, at 18 because of it.

Unfortuately, the axis of evil keeps churning, while his liberal teachers and their money grubbing union, left out reality based History and Social Studies, because they were too busy fawning over and organizing the vote to elect Barack Obama and his 'peaceable kingdom' bs.

When the Mexican Gov't is smacking us down, it's the end but the beginning of something we've never seen before. There are no words to describe what that administration is really all about. They don't even know from one minute to the next.

  12. 1200 soldiers for a border that's 1900 miles long... We'll see.

Meanwhile, the statement from Mexico is nothing new. They have been continuously vocal in opposition to any measure to fight illegal immigration. I'm sure you could find statement after statement that show their support for illegals, both for those who are crossing and for those who are already established here. Even during the Bush years. It's simply in their self-interest to have their impoverished citizens leave and begin sending money back to Mexico.
My question is just what they mean about the Guard acting "in accordance to its legal obligations." What legal obligation binds the Guard from enforcing immigration laws?

  13. So exactly did the Mexican government order Obama to do anything?

    JMJ

  14. According to Drudge and Breitbart the US heard Mexico's demands and heeded them. The troops are not to intercede in enforcing our immigration laws. This is simply too much.

  15. Not only did Mexico tell Obama what to do with those troops, Obama complied.

  16. Isn't "troops" a misnomer in this case since they're not going to be armed? And they're not going to secure the border anyway...that's not their purpose as stated.

Maybe we should call them administrative assistance who happen to work for the military.

  17. It's a game. It is all a game. Back in 1992 the National Guard was sent to Miami after Andrew. Some of our people went as well. They told of National Guardsmen, with empty M16s getting robbed of their weapons by gangs who had loaded guns.

This will be 1200 nice guys and gals just walking around "deploying" each other to places that don't matter.
