The "Freedom Flotilla" is a lie and a fraud. The Islamist government of Turkey, which has an ongoing rapprochement in progress with Iran, instigated the crisis, and a Turkish Islamist charity funded it, as The New York Times reported today.
Benjamin Netanhayu, the Prime Minister of Israel, laid it all out in a speech today:
"Hamas continues to arm. Iran continues to send weapons to Gaza. Iran's rockets are intended to hit Israeli communities, not just in the vicinity of Gaza, but in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem."It is time to take the blinders and gloves off, and to confront the frauds who support the destruction of Israel under the false banner of human rights and humanitarian efforts.
"It is our right according to International law to prevent arms smuggling to Gaza and that is why the naval blockade was put in place. The flotilla intended to break the blockade, not to bring in emergency supplies which we allow to reach Gaza"
"If the blockade had been broken, hundreds of ships would have followed, with a scale of smuggling far greater than that possible in the tunnels. Two ships stopped in the last years -Francop and Karine-A - had hundreds of tons of weapons."
"It is our duty to examine any ship going to Gaza - If we don't do this, the result would be an Iranian port in Gaza, only a few dozen kilometers from Tel Aviv, which would also threaten other countries in the region. We offered to take the cargo to Ashdod and examine it, an offer which Egypt seconded. The flotilla leaders rejected this."
"The takeover of five of the ships passed quietly. In the sixth ship, our soldiers encountered an extreme group that supports Hamas terror. This wasn't the "love boat" this was a flotilla of terror supporters."
I have have called them Useful Idiots, but that was far too kind.

I just read that the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza is so great that Hamas has refused to accept the flotilla's aid from Israel. Hamas is demanding that officials from the Free Gaza Movement deliver it to them.
ReplyDeleteYou can't make this stuff up.
My question is still the same one: what about Obama's position? I agree with you, Professor, that the goal is an Iranian port. Also, of course, to ensure that they have clear access - to ultimately destroy Israel. But the Obama administration is saying different things: Wiener, Hoyer come out on Israel's side, but Hillary agrees with the UN that Israel is in the wrong. What about Obama?
ReplyDeleteI believe he will condemn Israel, indirectly perhaps, but come out pro-Palestine/Hamas. Frightening, that the President of the US hasn't made a statement clearly condemning this act of terrorism by the IHH and Turkey! According to one article, they had at least 40 al-Qaeda members!! (h/t gatewaypundit). Is he going to side with al-Q or Israel? It's time for The Won to speak!
It would be wise to remember that groups who resort to using human shields have no interest in protecting human rights. America's choice is to stand with Israel or allow anarchy, war, and terror to pervade the Middle East (and possibly the world). Nice work, legal insurrection.
ReplyDeleteOver the past few days, I've seen Adam Shapiro who heads the "Free Gaza Movement" interviewed at least 4-5 times including last night on PBS Nightly News. I'm assuming that he is Jewish. I realize that FGM was one of the front groups but doesn't say something about our news editors that they would choose a Jew to be speaking on behalf of this flotilla?

Netanyahu argues that Western leaders would be just as interested as he in defending their countries. This speaks well of Netanyahu's honorable intentions, but I think he has misjudged Western leaders. Here and in Europe, Western leaders are all too eager to sacrifice Western cultures and legal systems on the altar of "multiculturalism." In the U.S., it's taboo to follow our legal procedures for defending our borders and our financial systems are making special adaptations to Shariah law. In Europe, Shariah law is already well entrenched. What I see mostly is capitulation and the labeling of non-capitulators as "bigots." Western leaders' refusal to recognize this latest attack on Israel as the opening of a port for Iran is no accident; it is just the next logical evidence of their contemptible willingness to bow down to terrorist demands.
ReplyDeleteOn my blog, I've argued this whole thing up one side of the street and down the other. In the final analysis, the Israeli - Palestinian problem is just an annoyance to the Muslim world. They know they can get popular opinion on their side on human rights alone if they practice so-called civil disobedience such as testing the blockade.
ReplyDeleteOne way or another, Iran will dominate the Middle East and re-establish the Caliphate - that is the end-game. And Iran will become a world power - also their end game. Israel is all that has stood between Europe and the Middle East with its Sharia law.
Israel can't afford another confrontation with a ship trying to breach the blockade. They will Attack Iran before that. The air raid drills have been going on in Israel long before this week. It is Israel's only option. OR they can wait for Iran to start the war. Either way, there will not be a peaceful end to this because this is a case of one whole system against another not just one country against another.
Turkey is already lost to the Russia, Iran, Brazil axis. This whole matter has guaranteed she will become an Islamic theocracy. I am sorry to be so negative but I don't think Israeli children going to school days in bomb shelters is a very positive thing either.
