"I am speaking to them in their own language. The sixth commandment says 'thou shalt not kill'. Did you not understand?" Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said in his harshest words yet since Israeli commandos raided the Mavi Marmara on Monday.Sorry to interrupt this twilight zone.
"I'll say [it] again. I say in English 'you shall not kill'. Did you still not understand? So I'll say to you in your own language. I say in Hebrew 'Lo Tirtzakh'," he said in a televised speech to supporters of his Islamist-leaning AK Party.

You hit every emotion this frail frame is able to run through like a checklist with this wonderful post. To say anything more would be to break the spell.
ReplyDeleteThey can't just willy-nilly kill Palestinians because at that point there wouldn't be an Israel to speak of; however, as this map shows: http://moinansari.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/israel-palestine_map.jpg
ReplyDeleteIt tends to be a gradual process, an ethnic cleansing if you will.
You think it would be a pleasure to be a suicide bomber? I'm fairly certain the Palestinians nor anyone would want to unnecessarily give up his or her life for their country. But look once again at that map above. When your land is being taken from you, and then they confine you to a walled off block of land with 1.5 million other people, then their only choice becomes resistance through any means possible. That means throwing rocks or blowing themselves up. When you dont have M1A1s or Apaches to go into a war, then they become desperate and build their own bombs or whatnot.
Do I support Hamas attacking civilians? NO! I don't support anyone attacking civilians, but Israel needs to stop settling in Palestinian lands, stop the blockade, and allow the civilians to live freely.
You think Turkey isn't going through similar struggles? But look at what they're doing:
1) They opened up state sponsored Kurdish schools
2) They launched a state sponsored Kurdish TV
3) Kurdish language is no longer a banned language
4) There's no limits to land movements of Turks, in, out, or throughout Turkey
5) They captured the mastermind of the PKK more than 10 years ago, and he wasn't executed eventhough he's responsible for killing 40,000 people, mostly civilians
6) They only bomb hideouts that are confirmed by the US and the Kurdish Iraqi intelligence
Nobody is stopping Israel from defending itself. But, they have NO rights to board a ship off international waters and kill 9 people carrying kitchen knives.
mindbullet24.. what an appropriate name...
ReplyDeleteI guess they have no right to have a blockade either. It maters not if they were in Int. waters. They showed intent to run through the blockade... They could have sank the ship instead!
