But news reports abroad indicate that the outgoing commander of the Israel Defense Forces may have admitted that Israel created the Stuxnet malware.
As reported by The Telegraph:
A showreel played at a retirement party for the head of the Israel Defence Forces appears to back claims that the country's security forces were responsible for the Stuxnet cyber attack on the Iranian nuclear programme.
The video of Lieutenant General Gabi Ashkenazi's operational successes included references to Stuxnet, a computer virus that disrupted the Natanz nuclear enrichment site last year, it was reported. The news of the video reportedly started in the Hebrew language version of Haaretz (automated translation here).
Ah, to have been a fly on the wall at that party. But the fly isn't talking.

That reinforces what was being reported earlier about the WikiLeaks memos that the worm was tested here in the US "with Israel" (I believe that is how it was reported). Unfortunate that the Iranians now have an Israeli's verbal confirmation of their suspicions. Loose lips and all that.....
ReplyDeleteWas there any doubt? No one else a.) cares, and b.) has the balls to do what needs to be done with respect to Iran.
ReplyDeleteThe worm is vastly preferable to the usual "bomb them to the stone age" rhetoric. The world ought to be kissing Israel's feet for this.
I think it's fine that this became known. Islamicists fear strength. That's why Obama is not feared by them. When Israel shows strength, the Arabs demure. It's only when Israel shows weakness do the Arabs attack.
ReplyDeleteNot the first time.

With due regard to our host - for the first time in about 2,000 years the Jewish people have taken a stand. Hurrah!
When is Stuxnet 2.0 due out? I think Netenyahu should send Iran's leaders a Valentine's Day Card and a delicious box of Norton anti-virus.
