Fan Me

I really haven't tried to do the Facebook fan page thing, although I do have a Facebook Networked Blog with close to 500 followers.

I find Facebook really confusing, although if my 80+ year old mother-in-law can do it, maybe I need to get with the program.

So ...  I have started and will be focusing some attention on a Facebook Fan page.

At the Fan Page there will be discussions and other updates, as well as links to the blog posts.  In the next few weeks I hope to turn the Fan Page into a means of communicating with existing readers and also attracting new readers.

So please Fan Me.

  1. Ok, I admit it; I am a Facebook neophyte. I only joined for a chance to win one of Rush's IPads. So, to "fan" someone, does that mean you go to the page and hit the "like" button?

  2. @Bohemian - yes, maybe I should have said "Like me" but that sounds so much more pathetic.

  3. Maybe I am loosing my touch. I used to be able to read and understand Russian, but don't really understand your poster..please translate...

  4. Facebook has done some pretty nasty stuff including sponsoring that gory 1010goal or whatever its called. I have resisted all attempts by friends and acquaintances to open a FB account. My favorite blog (even more so after posting some old-skool Iron Butterfly sweetness) might be a reason to change my mind.

  5. I'm not on Facebook, but I made the request of some friends who are.

  6. Um... why a 'Bolshie' poster for your FB pic?

  7. I actually found your blog originally through Facebook's Network Blogs. I'm proud to "Like" you, and have added your Page to my Page's "Favorites" (search for it under A Free Exchange of Ideas).

  8. What I want to know is, will our favorite professor give the same, more, or less attention to his FB page as he gives to his LinkedIn profile?

  9. I just don't see the point of Facebook when one has a blog. I joined Facebook for just one reason... to "Friend" (Fanned her, lol) Sarah Palin and read her blog there. And it took me five minutes to find the darn "Friend" button. I was getting fairly exasperated by that point.

Funniest spiel about Facebook (in my opinion) was the one Jon Stewart did on former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney in 2008.

"Mitt Romney is handsome though. I would like to FRIEND HIM. Friending someone on Facebook sounds... dirty." -Jon Stewart

I have the link to that rare vid if anyone wants it.

  10. Stephen Monteith? There's a "Like" button too? Where the heck is that? hahaha

I'm going through another Easter egg hunt for that? no... You'll have to take my word for it, Professor: I "Like" you. :>

BTW, you have the best word verification words here...

verification word of the day: sufflabi

  11. Prof - you can get a better facebook URL for your fan page by going to http://www.facebook.com/username/
