But The Stewart Rally Isn't Political, Right?

Obama is all in with the Jon Stewart "Restoring Sanity" rally next weekend, even doing an appearance on Stewart's show a few days before.  As reported by AP:
President Barack Obama is taking his campaign message to "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart.

White House spokesman Dan Pfeiffer says Obama is taping an appearance on Oct. 27, just days before the Nov. 2 elections. Stewart is coming to Washington next week for the "Rally to Restore Sanity" he is holding three days later on Saturday, Oct. 30, on the National Mall.

  1. Good for him. The more visible Obama is before the election, the worse it gets for Dems

  2. I've been asking around - and not getting an answer. What is the point of this rally?
Restore sanity? I thought Obama being president solved all the problems. Are they going to rally to tell us that somehow Republicans are responsible for record deficits, record spending, record unemployment, record bank failures, record foreclosures, record death toll in Afghanistan, record number of people on food stamps, record number of months of consecutive unemployment, a failing dollar and division in the country not seen since the 1060's?
Is that what they are really going to try to say?

  3. They don't have enough porta potties for the event. The Park Service requires a certain amount. The marines have rented all 800 available for their marathon the next day and refused a request to share them with the "Sanity" crowd. In fact, they're keeping them locked up that day.

    Merde.

  4. Brilliant! What better way to reassure the country that your administration is dead serious about the growing problems in America than to become a recurring cast member on Comedy Central. "Always leave them laughing!"

Speaking of Vaudeville truisms, what ever happened to Vaudeville anyway? Left them laughing one too many times?

  5. Pandora’s Box has been opened by the “all-gifted One – Obama”. It will be hard to restore sanity after what he and the left have done to our country. Hope remains, though.

  6. cf:

They’re short toilets because of the Marines…classic!

The USMC comes to the rescue again. Great work Jarheads!

  7. Don't worry, I'm sure Jon Stewart will ask interview questions that are at least as tough as those asked by Rolling Stone.

What's next? A live appearance with Keith Ogremann or Tingles Matthews?

I don't think there's a snowball's chance he will tack to the center after the elections.

  8. If, as I suspect, these numbnuts continue to demonize a sizeable percentage of this country, this may turn into one of the most GOTV events the GOP has ever had.

  9. "What's next? A live appearance with Keith Ogremann or Tingles Matthews?"

Would that be on a porn channel, or would it be pay-per-view?
