A University of Iowa professor felt the need to reply to a blast email by the College Republicans on Monday morning. Ellen Lewin, a professor of Anthropology and Gender, Women’s & Sexuality Studies in the Department of Gender, Women’s & Sexuality Studies, sent a vulgar response to a College Republican email about the group’s, “Conservative Coming Out Week.”It's like material just falls from the sky, waiting to be picked up. And then writes itself.
The College Republican email, which was sent to the entire University of Iowa Community, had been approved by a number of university officials before being sent out.
Lewin responded to email by writing, “#*@% [F-Word] YOU, REPUBLICANS” from her official university email account.

I suppose this is yet another example of the "civility" President Obama was lecturing us all to exhibit?
ReplyDeleteThis professor needs a new career of picking up unemployment checks.
ReplyDeleteI used to think the term "unhinged" was a bit harsh in describing growing numbers of leftists.
ReplyDeleteAfter watching the debacles in Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, Florida, Washington, and other places I believe the term was being used correctly.
The story of this professor just lends credence to that term.
Typical crazed Lefty response to everything. Honest to God, Professor, I don't know how you do it on a campus like Cornell. It's a wonder you stay sane.
ReplyDeleteIn a completely unrelated topic, please add more Yes until further notice. Excellent!
Prof. Lewin has failed at diversity, tolerance and civility... the "virtues" they tell us they possess in spades.
ReplyDeleteYet, she will be celebrated, not condemned.
Do we need any more proof that the Left is devoid of normal human characteristics?
Why is the left so vulgar?
ReplyDeleteI understand what she did, however, I’m struggling to understand what the professor expected to accomplish by broadcasting a such a crude expression of contempt. We know it’s de rigueur anymore for liberals to just hate Republicans because they are Republicans, but do they feel so beyond reproach that they no longer have any obligation to put forth some type of rationale for their positions? Was she trying to convey that those who have opposing points of view are simply contemptible? Was she just flummoxed that there actually are Republicans on campus? What????
ReplyDeleteI believe it’s significant that we are seeing these desperate expressions of contempt from the left with increasing frequency. It’s as though the new rationale for them is that there is no longer a need to be rational. All that is required anymore is a sincere expression of one’s hatred. Need we be reminded, people should just feel what they feel, because after all, one’s feelings are never wrong.
This is just one more reason that students who are pursuing a degree in a real subject should not be forced to take quacko whacko liberal arts courses. Education is outrageously expensive these days yet students and families are forced to pay to take brainwash classes with bitter old progressives like Professor Lewin.
ReplyDeleteThe old, outraged, impetuous Professor Lewin yesterday: "F%#ck you, Republicans !!!"
ReplyDeleteThe new, relaxed, thankful Professor Lewin today: "Thank you, tenure !!!"
Tellingly, Professor Lewin's Substance-Free Political Argumentation for Achieving Enlightened Female Primacy in an Oppressive Man's World and any Republican Encounter 301 offers course material on how to:
ReplyDelete"DISScoarse, deBAIT, DIEalog, disCUSS, ASSert, reBUTT, re-P.U.-diate, deliBERATE, and engage in XXXchanges and tête-à-TETs with one's contemptible opponents."
[Oops and of course, "reFUte" should have been listed above]
ReplyDeletelol, well since it's gotten easier for you, get to work on this one, because they're really becoming unhinged here and I know you'll love it. ;)

Here’s an interview with University of Iowa Professors Timothy Hagle and Kembrew McLeod, Matt Sowada, the conservative co-host of the political talk radio show American Reason on KRUI, and Rod Sullivan from the Johnson County Board of Supervisors about Professor Ellen Lewin’s “F— You, Republicans!” email response to the University of Iowa College Republicans campus-wide invite for people to participate in “Conservative Coming Out Week.”
