Perhaps this is why Obama was so annoyed when a local Texas reporter asked Obama why he was so unpopular in Texas, found on a car in Austin bearing various liberal bumper stickers:
If Obama is losing the Austin crowd, how long before the base turns on him in Berkeley, Ithaca and Cambridge?
(I can't find the e-mail from the reader who sent this, so please send again for a proper h/t)
Update: Thanks to William, a Cornell grad, for the photo above.

They'll still vote for him. What choice do they have?

Obama gets irritated when he is challenged on any subject. He has this "they don't like me" complex and he has to be liked according to his book. Hopefully, he is losing his base.
ReplyDeleteI used to live in Austin (late 1980s). Believe me: they are nutso, and not in a good or funny way.
ReplyDeleteGood grief.. how did I miss this whole series of bumper stickers? It's like discovering a treasure trove! :-)
ReplyDeleteI live just 45 miles out of Austin. During the 2008 election season, Obama bumper stickers were everywhere in Austin.
ReplyDeleteI was there just a couple of weeks ago (try to stay out of the San Francisco of the Southwest as much as possible) and I counted only three cars (all foreign cars, btw) that still had Obama stickers on them. Seems the drugged out hippies of Austin are disappointed in Obama since he hasn't managed to provide them with their socialist utopia yet.
