Passover Is No Time To Wish For The End Of Christian America ....Nothing has changed in thousands of years. They still rise up in every generation to destroy us, but this time the names are not Haman or Adolf, but Mahmoud and Osama. And on this earth, it will be Christian Americans almost alone who will stand with us.Because nothing has changed since 2009.

Funny, at first I thought that 's' was a typo.

ReplyDeleteAs G-d will allow, the US will always be there for Israel
Hope you and your family have a joyous Passover, Professor!
ReplyDeleteBlessings on this first day of Passover. Shalom.

ReplyDeleteIsrael is not alone.
Chag kasher V'Sameach. Shalom l'ka.
ReplyDeleteRead your post on Passover for the first time. Thanks. We cannot help but love our elder brother too much because we have many centuries of abuse to make up to him.
ReplyDeleteWe all send our wishes for a happy Passover as the Jewish people celebrate their deliverance from bondage and their Exodus to the Land of Israel
ReplyDeleteNot only do we wish send our blessings to our Jewish friends this Passover, we also acknowledge that the Jewish people came to America after being nearly extinguished in Europe after WWII and they didn’t ask for set aside programs. They didn't request special treatment. Instead they applied themselves and employed discipline which brought them into a realm of accomplishment every other group of people throughout the world would do well to thoroughly examine. The Jewish people have provided the means and a model for anyone who wishes to transcend discrimination and achieve great accomplishments.
And we all have since been the beneficiaries of their accomplishments in medicine, science, literature, music, theatre, education, and nearly every other field of human endeavor.
Thank you so much!
A blessed and happy Passover to you, your loved ones, and to the Jewish people as a whole. May the blessings of heaven be upon you this holy night -- different from all other night.
ReplyDeleteYou misspelled his name. It's O-B-a-m-a ;~)
ReplyDeleteHappy Passover to you and yours.
I think it was Milton Himmelfarb who quipped that the danger Christians in the US posed to the Jewish community as a whole was not that they wanted to kill us but that they wanted to marry us.
ReplyDeleteWe have and will likely continue to have some differences with our Christian fellow Americans, but the people who want to kill us and destroy Israel are, as you say, not those people. One of the (many) shortcomings of the left, and especially the Jewish left, is this urge to slap our friends in the face and placate our dedicated enemies.
I just re-read your posting from 2009. Thank you. What a great entry!
ReplyDeleteThe many who hid Jews in Europe during WWII were Christian, including Corrie Ten-Boom; those who hid Anne Frank were Christian.....and the list goes on. Do people know this? Is this history taught anymore?
And to read George Washington's words again reminds me of how wise and selfless our Founders were, how hard they fought for our nation - a land of liberty for ALL.
Our nation's history is rooted in love for the Jewish people; a truly Christian people will always stand with Israel and her people - God's chosen people.
Thank you for reminding us of our past. Just what Passover commemorates - that we may never forget. Thank you.
Peace be with You and all, who are celebrating during this solemn Holy week.
ReplyDeleteAmerican Jews and Christians are enjoying a freedom from bigotry together at this time in history. Amen.
Let's pat OURSELVES on the back for this tolerance and to continue to promote, preserve and protect each of our religious freedoms, hand in hand. Our children and granchildren deserve this much strength if needed.
Have a joyous Passover, Bill.

ReplyDeleteI join Gov Palin in greeting you Professor.
... and I also wanted to tell you I lurk on your blog every day and really appreciate your dry wit and cut-to-the-chase logical analysis.
Didn't you pose a rhetorical Q a few months ago which included the phrase "knock-down, drag-out fight"? After watching her challenge the Left in the face of all that verbal filth in Madison last weekend, I see that Gov Palin has answered your Q in the affirmative!
Also, so many of us take Gen 12 v 1-3 seriously and it gladdens my heart to see Gov Palin speaking out in unequivocal support for The Jewish State and her people. (also love that giant broach she wears unashamedly, showing the Israeli and US flags intertwined! *__*)
You can maybe detect that I have already chosen my POTUS candidate, before she has even announced, although that "GAME ON!" grenade she tossed out to finish her speech in Madison sure had us Palinistas leaping out of our seats! *__*
"And on this earth, it will be Christian Americans almost alone who will stand with us."
ReplyDeleteWhich explains why Barack Obama, his Administration and a plurality of liberal democrats don't stand by Israel.
I too wish you and all of Israel blessings on this Passover from a Christian brother (we also celebrate the Seder). When you get back to the blog (where I too read everyday and enjoy your comments) please explain to me why so many Jewish people in the US vote for liberals who will NOT defend Israel?
ReplyDeleteThanks
