Now its 2005 Nobel Laureate Mohamed ElBaradei threatening war with Israel if Israel gets into another war with Hamas in Gaza:
Former International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei, who had previously announced his intetions to run for the presidency of Egypt, said Monday that “if Israel attacked Gaza we would declare war against the Zionist regime."As you know, I'm not a big fan of ElBaradei. His latest posturing surely is a result of the growing realization that the Islamists are ascendent.
In an interview with the Al-Watan newspaper he said: "In case of any future Israeli attack on Gaza - as the next president of Egypt – I will open the Rafah border crossing and will consider different ways to implement the joint Arab defense agreement."
ElBaradei can give interviews to the press, but the Islamists can put over a million people on the streets to chant "To Jerusalem We go, for us to be the Martyrs of the Millions."
Peace.

If we don't wake up - we're doomed. Thanks for trying.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's not like that award has meant anything since Arafat, but El Baradei's job a the IAEA was pretty clearly to look the other way with regard to nuclear weapons.
ReplyDeleteThat was my impression 5 years ago, and it's got no better since.
If he opens the Rafah Crossing, Israel should retake it and make sure that no one who left under Baradei's war mongering is allowed back inside Gaza. Let Egypt keep the Hamas terrorists and their supporters inside their territory.
ReplyDeleteWhat in hell is it with these Nobel PEACE Prize winners suddenly becoming war hawks?
ReplyDeleteFirst you got Obama with 3 wars and now this El Baradei guy wanting to attack someone.
Is anything sacred?
