Cpl Jonathan Daniel Porto, Remembered

I'm sorry that I forgot to mark the one-year anniversary of the death of Marine Corporal Jonathan Daniel Porto, who was killed in Afghanistan on March 14, 2010, leaving behind his wife and infant daughter.

The original blog post by Cpl. Porto's wife, Rachel, announcing his death was extraordinarily moving, I Will Always Be A Marine Wife,  She also wrote an article for The Washington Post, Promises a Marine Widow Cannot Bear To Hear.

Rachel Porto has a blog post to remember her husband and the difficult year, Survivor.

  2. God, my heart goes out. May Corporal Porto's family take some comfort knowing there are many Americans who thank the great men and women of our military daily for making this world a better and safer place. I am in awe and humbled by their sacrifice. God bless him and his family, and may he rest in peace.
