Make Them Vote On It, Anyway

The Democratic leadership in the Senate has told Republicans in the House not to bother with repeal of Obamacare, any repeal bill will not get past the Senate.

That's old news, and certainly no reason not to pass legislation in the House.

There are several vulnerable Democratic Senators up for reelection in 2012.  Make them vote on repeal of Obamacare as an entirety, and in pieces.

And then run the advertisements early and often.

Update:  Looks like there will be a repeal vote in the House as early as January 12.

  1. If Repubs don't force a vote to make it clear how libs really feel about Obamacare, they fail Politics 101.

  2. If the repeal is a standalone measure, Senate Democrats won't vote on it. They'll send it to a committee which won't even hold hearings.

You may have a point despite that.

  3. Simply tie it to an omnibus spending bill. Isn't that what the Dems do?

  4. Someone suggested tying it to the debt ceiling vote.

  5. The *only* problem is a stand alone bill would never make it to the Senate floor for a vote.

The Democrats would kill it in committee (The trick would be to force into as many committees as possible to force as many Dems as possible to vote against it).

Although attempting to tie it to another bill (Omnibus budget bills) might work...

Even if it never comes to an actual floor vote for all 100 Senators the GOP can at least claim the Democrats didn't allow an up or down vote on one of the most unpopular pieces of legislation.

  6. Hey, they're talking about needing to raise the debt ceiling again. Why not put that in the repeal bill? Make raising the debt ceiling dependent on repealing Obamacare.

    Cue lefty head 'splosions.

  7. Make them vote, make it part of the record. Give the Tea Party more ammunition to take to the people.

  8. Harry Reid is the most incompetent lazy-ass Majority Leader in recent memory and should be required to move said ancient ass to muster up enough votes to block a repeal in the Senate. Reid is too lazy to do so and hopes his bluster might buffalo Boehner and some weird RINO red-dogs, if such exist, to out themselves as quislings to the GOP agenda.

  9. Repeal will not get past the Senate... yet.

I hope none of these Dems and RINOS will look to their place in history, nor ask their children to do so... because it will be shameful.
