Concern Trolls Against Fox

Joe Klein is a concern troll. In purporting to criticize Obama's attacks on Fox News, Klein devotes most of his latest post to attacking Fox News:
Let me be precise here: Fox News peddles a fair amount of hateful crap. Some of it borders on sedition. Much of it is flat out untrue.

But I don't understand why the White House would give such poisonous helium balloons as Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity the opportunity for still greater spasms of self-inflation by declaring war on Fox.
Just in case you didn't get his point, Klein repeats that "Fox News spreads seditious lies to its demographic sliver of an audience."

Sedition? A year ago when it was Keith Olbermann, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama calling George Bush names, it was called dissent, a/k/a the highest form of patriotism.

Somehow, I think Klein is working for Obama, or at least angling for a private sit down like Olbermann and Rachel Maddow.

  1. But, but......I thought dissent was the highest form of patriotism (Crap Jefferson Never Said: The Complete Works, Vol. 3, 1804)?

Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure that more than a few liberal commentators, activists, and even members of Congress, actually did commit statutory sedition during the Bush years (or at least got within rock-tossing distance of it).

Joe Klein, proof that Time doesn't hold mild retardation against prospective columnists.

  2. All plantations have their overseers. Ole Joe is a Progressive overseer keeping the leftie peons well indoctrinated. It’s tough work. You need to whip the masses with gross distortions and rabid hate speech to convince them to keep their zombie minds closed, but most importantly, keep them from wandering off the thought plantation.

  4. Fox News ratings are higher than CNN and MSNBC combined = "sliver of an audience."

    Ha.

  5. I kinda wonder if all this sabre rattling at Fox News by Obuma et. el. is not a part of their diversionary techniques. Unemployment is officially double digit (I'm guessing it's really 16% nationwide), the war in Afghanistan is not going well, etc. When attacking Fox News doesn't work, the progressives will probably start blaming the Jews and/or Christians. And those of us who know our history, know what direction that can lead in ...

  6. "Concern Trolls." Jacobson, give yourself an ATTABOY for that one. Concern trolls. Exactly.

I knew a concern troll once although I didn't have a name for her. She told her son, who had gone to a lot of trouble and (relative) expense to get her a birthday gift, "That's nice Tommy, and I want you to know that I appreciate the fact that you got me something, even if it isn't anything I wanted."
