The script instructs teachers to use the following questions with the students after the speech:
What do you think the President wants us to do?
Does the speech make you want to do anything?
Are we able to do what President Obama is asking of us?
What would you like to tell the President?
This whole line of reasoning and questioning is backwards. It may have become lost in the mania, but HE works for US, not the other way around.
Instead of asking what we can do for President Obama, shouldn't we be teaching children to ask what President Obama can do for us?
And no, this is not Obama's "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country" moment.
First to the current reality. It's all about him:
Now to the history lesson. It's not about him:
UPDATE: In response to public outcry, the script is being changed.

ReplyDeleteThat song made me throw up in my mouth a little.
ReplyDeleteIf I had kids in school, I'd keep them out next Tuesday. Of course, they'll probably track and harass the parents who do.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I think the song sounds much better in its original Deutsch with 1940's slang and all.
ReplyDeleteThis is really scary. Home school your kids!
ReplyDeleteDid you see the guidance for grades 7-12? It has them making decorative collages and crap. That's a good use of taxpayer dollars right there.
ReplyDeleteWhat is up with September? The next night Spet. 9th, Elmo is having a special for kids about the recession. Will this be indoctrination? More scary ways to imbue Obamamania in children.
ReplyDeleteWhat is up with September?
ReplyDeleteThis administration wants us to think and talk about anything but September 11.
You guys are right, Obama is clearly trying to indoctrinate our children. For the love of God, pull your children out of school before they learn something. We wouldn't want them growing up with good sense because they wouldn't turn out with the good sense of all the people who posted here.
