Complaining about the fact that even MSNBC could not spin Democratic losses in Virginia and New Jersey as a victory for Obama in last Tuesday's election, Digby at Hullabaloo bitterly opined, Put It On A Bumper Sticker:
"I believe this is because they truly think these teabaggers represent a deep discontent with liberalism among all Real Americans. (They are, after all, white, middle aged folks dressed in red, white and blue, waving flags all around. Just like in Mayberry in 1955.)"White. Middle-aged. Waving a flag. To these race card players, it doesn't get any worse than that.
Put that on a bumper sticker for Election Day, 2010.

What is scary is that the lunatics passed Obamacare through the House 220-215! They just refuse to accept the will of the people and the fact that as elected officials they are elected to serve the people not their own egos and warped agendas.
ReplyDeleteWeeell, Muslim Conservative, they're supposed to work for us, BUT -- they're also supposed to somehow have a "higher vision" so that they don't just perpetuate the original downside of democracy, that old ogre "mob rule". So, constitutionally, they MUST have the freedom to do what they think is right (think Civil Rights, for example).

Actually, as an avid watcher of The Andy Griffith Show, I don't recall any flag waving -- and some of the folks in Mayberry were young!
