Brown's election may have prevented the national disaster known as the Democratic health care bills. It would have been enough.
Brown's election has killed the national disaster known as cap-and-trade. It would have been enough.
Brown's election has neutralized Al Franken's role as the 60th Democratic vote. It would have been enough.
Brown's election has caused Franken to turn his foul temper on the Obama administration:
It would have been enough, but it is so much sweeter than that.Sen. Al Franken ripped into White House senior adviser David Axelrod this week during a tense, closed-door session with Senate Democrats.
Five sources who were in the room tell POLITICO that Franken criticized Axelrod for the administration’s failure to provide clarity or direction on health care and the other big bills it wants Congress to enact....
A Democratic source said that Franken directed his criticism solely at Axelrod. “It was all about leadership and health care and what the plan was going to be,” the source said.
Franken — a comedian turned liberal talk show host — vowed to keep a relatively low profile when he arrived in the Senate over the summer after a protracted legal battle with former GOP Sen. Norm Coleman. But he has developed a reputation among his colleagues as one of the more aggressive personalities on the Hill.
The Obama administration has to deal with Franken even though Franken serves no purpose any longer since Franken isn't the 60th vote.
There is a special place in political hell for the people who embraced Al Franken. And the Obama administration is in that place right now.
Now let's eat.
Update: Since we are talking about Al Franken, I bring you Felix the Singing Cockatiel whistling the melody of Dayenu (it would have been enough):

I picture Franken sitting is some dark damp basement office. There he discusses all his crazy thoughts with himself, out loud. M

ReplyDeleteAn interesting mathematical phenomenon isn't it? That's why the US remains exceptional. Our Senate is the only place in the universe where 41 is greater than 60.
ReplyDeleteFranken is about as useless as tits on a boar hog but it sure is nice to see him stirring trouble for his benefactors.
ReplyDeleteThey wanted him, now they can choke on him.
ReplyDeleteFranken was never funny on Saturday Night Live; he is not funny now.
ReplyDeleteFranken acts as if God himself could not cause him to loose an election. I am confident that he see himself in a higher office. He's practicing dictator speak.
