This card game is getting boring and pathetic.Steve Benen tries to understand just why wingnuts are so angry about health care reform. He doesn’t make bad points, but its so much simpler than that. We on the left think that rage has to be somewhat rational, for instance we raged about an unwarranted war. Why is wingnuttia so angry?
We elected a Democrat, and even worse, he’s black.

ReplyDeleteNo reasonable person would ever consider rage a rational emotion--all it leads to are episodes like that of the (enraged) SEIU thugs beating up an innocent man because he had (an entirely rational) disagreement with them.
As for the 'everybody to the right of Patrick Moynihan' is a racist meme, that's really just a sister of Godwin's Law and should be treated as such. ("As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1.")
In fact, if I may be so bold, might I coin a new law: ECM's Law:
As a political discussion with a Lefitst grows longer, the probability of said Leftist calling his political opponent a racist is 1."
Interesting thing about Benan and washington Monthly -- they talk of tolerance but they do not allow any comments from people whose views differ.
ReplyDeleteHow many Conservatives and republicans are allowed to post comments there?
If they are curious about Republicans and Conservatives, have the commenters and Steve Benan ever thought of not demonizing us and trying to talk with people whose opinons differ?
Like typical leftists, they squelch debate and wonder why people get pissed.
