I have cancelled both my online and print subscriptions. Whether or not I agree with the positions they took, it is certainly outside their mission and why I used to be a subscriber to their services. Never again.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12190551576685396104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1522121129844880066.post-74019372475623824582009-10-06T10:41:36.428-04:002009-10-06T10:41:36.428-04:00I abandoned Consumer Reports almost 2 decades ago ...I abandoned Consumer Reports almost 2 decades ago when they found a difference in vitamins which, unknown to them of course, were manufactured not only at the same factory but from the same batch. At that time they were just getting heavily into the "wellness" industry with various publishings no different than those others in the market at that time save for banking on their "Consumer Reports" brand.Alan Fhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00669565332075044743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1522121129844880066.post-2478564917794889912009-10-06T09:25:44.375-04:002009-10-06T09:25:44.375-04:00This is an example of the discussion my friends an...This is an example of the discussion my friends and I have about whether the left leaning direction of this nation, with all of the companies, media organizations, and government positions being headed by what seems to be leftist, is by accident or by design.

Some of my friends say it is a conspiracy. Others say it is an illusion. I land somewhere in the middle. I try to explain to them that the result of an intentional conspiracy to reach a goal is no different than the random individual acts committed by like minded, similarly educated people who have the same point of view. The difference is the conspiracy demands coordination. (As we do see in the daily media calls with administration officials and heads of media organizations.) Random acts done by people with the same goals or points of view are not necessarily a conspiracy. (Imagine two university professors teaching classes in different schools. Neither know each other, but have the same outlook on the economy or "social justice". They would teach the class using the same principles and have the same influence on the student's point of view.)

Did Consumer Reports get a phone call from Obama? Or did they just follow their already established philosophy of liking government regulations? Is the seeding of key industries with left leaning executives an accident, or a result of years of leftist education? This is a good argument to have, because it helps establish where the failure occurred. Were we too complacent in the "everybody's views are equal" issue and let bad teachers and bad philosophies into our schools? Or are we victims of that rumored theory that Communists has been planting their people in our nation for forty years? Stupidity or an act a war on our way of life.

An interesting argument and one we need to answer. Our future depends on it.archer52https://www.blogger.com/profile/03284508120593653198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1522121129844880066.post-21713801654458422702009-10-05T19:46:21.493-04:002009-10-05T19:46:21.493-04:00Unfortunately not surprising.
