They have been saved from the enrichment of the cronies that would have gained significantly if Chicago had been nominated.

However, I do think that it was the turn of a South American country to stage the Olympics and that is what is important.Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00532250145038548627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1522121129844880066.post-16711299677876834232009-10-09T20:57:29.816-04:002009-10-09T20:57:29.816-04:00I am an outsider. He cannot manage a speech without a teleprompter, and the words on the teleprompter are most of the time not written by him. He cannot even manage to look straight into a camera. The body language says it all...

As the "revelation" by Ayers, well I am having an each way bet on the matter. Ayers is up to something. I think that it is probable that he was telling the truth but he wants to play a game and so he then responds: "are you crazy".

The work done by Cashill for example shows that there is a turn of phrase that is found in the book that is of the Ayers style - this might or might not be strong evidence on the fact that there was a ghost writer.

Is it important? Well many think it is not an important issue. I disagree with them for a few reasons, but the main one is that there is the claim that this book was written alone by Obama when in all probability it was written by a ghost writer. It is also important because Obama disavowed his association with Ayers during the election campaign.

Looking at this second point, which I do think is the main issue, if the book was ghost written by Ayers, then it means that Obama lied during the campaign when he disavowed his close association with Ayers. It is an indication of how far he will go for self-glorification.

If the book was in fact ghost written, it also indicates that much of the publicity about Obama was a smokescreen. For example, he was editor of the Law Review at Harvard, but there are people who were part of the Law Review at the time who have attested that he did nothing at the time. He had a job with a prestigious law firm in Chicago and it has also been stated by those who worked with him that he did nothing. Then there is the claim that he was a law professor when he was nothing more than a lecturer without tenure. There is the claim that he was a constitutional lawyer, yet all he lectured on was community organizing.

If you add these things together you get a very different picture of a man who has a very shadowy past.Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00532250145038548627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1522121129844880066.post-72466844429005863262009-10-08T17:01:49.894-04:002009-10-08T17:01:49.894-04:00Quoted from and linked to at: FREAKY DEAKYQuoted from and linked to at: FREAKY DEAKYBob Belvederehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17220595844172546069noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1522121129844880066.post-69964784796841106162009-10-08T08:50:53.230-04:002009-10-08T08:50:53.230-04:00I don't hate the President "on a deep and...I don't hate the President "on a deep and personal level." I just hate what he's trying to do.

And America doesn't lose by not getting the 2016 Olympics. Serving as host country is not necessarily a good thing when the true costs are factored in. (I'm sure this WAS a huge loss for all the Blagos and Rezkos that still run the show in Chicago, but that's another matter.) In any event, there will be other chances for the USA to host the Olympics (2020, 2024, etc.) -- assuming Obama doesn't destroy our country in the meantime.Conrad Bibbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05422935506611755825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1522121129844880066.post-7140431051041339072009-10-07T18:32:51.288-04:002009-10-07T18:32:51.288-04:00Conrad Bibby said...

Many people believed that the Chicago games would have been a huge boondoggle for Illinois politicians and their cronies, with ordinary taxpayers being asked to foot the bill.

2. It was apparent from their personal involvement in lobbying the IOC that the Obamas saw the Olypics as a huge opportunity for their own personal and political glorification. I for one didn't want to see the Olympics used in that way.

3. It demonstrated quite plainly that the entire predicate of Obama's foreign policy -- the idea that he can charm foreign officials to do what America wants through the sheer force of his personality -- is completely flawed. The sooner America realizes this, the better, and if it ONLY takes losing out on the Olympics this time around to make that case to the American people, it's well worth it.Conrad Bibbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05422935506611755825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1522121129844880066.post-21570203502442647932009-10-07T16:25:41.794-04:002009-10-07T16:25:41.794-04:00"I spent 29 years of my life in the military ..."I spent 29 years of my life in the military and I did it to support the constitution and its people. I never could of guessed that a majority party and a President wanted to change our country to a socialistic state. The republicans are not blameless, but the democratic liberals are the worst enemies of America. They talk the talk with their promises to help the poor but they don't walk the walk because all they want is power and prestige while throwing a few scraps to the little people who follow. If you want equality and justice and care about your country, show up at the polls and vote these corrupt do nothings out of office. Start with Pelosi, Reid, Waxman, Boxer, Schumer, Franken, Jackson Lee, Sanderson,Burris, and the bunch that voted to keep ACORN funded. There are dozens more who denigrate the Congressional offices. Do not vote for people who can't compromise and support gridlock, like the queen of gridlock Speaker Nancy Pelosi. She should be impeached for the suffering her stupidity has brought to WE THE PEOPLE through her mismanagement of the House Speakers job. President Obama could do a good job if he could divorce himself from the radical liberals (Pelosi, Reid and Co.) These people have the Americans at each others throat hoping to become rulers of the American Socialistic Republic of America. We don't need to attack each other, we need to attack these do nothing Congress people who are taking us for a one way ride away from the constitution and our hard fought freedoms. Think about it.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07679935347382823228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1522121129844880066.post-24809714043661985362009-10-07T15:15:08.853-04:002009-10-07T15:15:08.853-04:00Zahir Blue said...

I wonder how many conservatives realize or even vaguely respect the idea that so many of us felt precisely the same way about Bush and Reagan? And to be honest, much of the nightmare most of us are experiencing--in terms of an economic meltdown, increased racial tensions, unaffordable health care, etc.--are the responsibility of conservative politicians and pundits (among, let us be fair, plenty of others including the electorate itself).

Me, I'm bored with people trying to find fault with every word or action by President Obama, no matter how trivial.
